Job description

Summary

We’re seeking a visionary and execution-focused Director of Product to lead Result Understanding & Actionability—a core capability within our Customer Experience Products portfolio. You’ll define the future of how patients, providers, and care teams interpret and act on genomic test results—across channels, over time, and with confidence.

This role owns the strategy and roadmap for delivering clear, contextual, and clinically meaningful result experiences. That means dynamic content tailored to different audiences (e.g., genetics experts, non-genetics providers, patients and families), delivered via multiple modalities (e.g., portal, EHR/EMR, PDF, paper), and supporting actionability across result types (positive, negative, VUS) and time horizons (immediate next steps and longer-term care implications).

This is a rare opportunity to build a product capability that treats content + context as a product in itself—shaping not just what we say, but how, when, and where we deliver it to drive understanding, empathy, and action. This role is for someone who sees clinical result delivery not as the end of the journey, but as the beginning of deeper understanding, timely action, and long-term impact.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the product strategy for how genomic test results are communicated, interpreted, and acted on across user types, delivery mechanisms, and timeframes.
  • Design for actionability: Ensure each result—regardless of type—enables clear next steps for providers, patients, and caregivers, including clinical and non-clinical pathways, educational content, and longitudinal support.
  • Build for scale and adaptability: Balance immediate experience delivery with scalable infrastructure for future personalization, automation, and AI-powered insights.
  • Lead a high-performing team of product managers, driving bold thinking, iterative learning, and a test-and-learn mindset.
  • Collaborate deeply with Design, Engineering, Clinical Product, Medical Affairs, Lab Ops, Customer Service, Commercial, and Patient Advocacy to co-create solutions that are scientifically rigorous, operationally feasible, and emotionally resonant.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform prioritization and measure impact—combining patient/provider insights, operational metrics, and market signals.
  • Ensure all result experiences comply with relevant regulatory, privacy, and clinical accuracy standards, while continuing to push the boundaries of innovation and empathy.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer—advocating for providers and patients inside the organization and building solutions that center their real-world needs.

People Manager

  • Yes

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in product management or service design, with at least 3+ years leading teams delivering content-rich, user-facing products where information design, clarity, and utility are central to the value proposition.
  • Demonstrated success working in healthcare, diagnostics, healthtech, or similarly regulated and complex domains—especially where multi-audience communication is core to the product.
  • A portfolio that reflects personalized communication at scale, delivering high-stakes or high-complexity information with clarity, empathy, and nuance.
  • Fluency in collaborating across highly cross-functional teams—especially with clinical, scientific, and design counterparts.
  • Strength in hypothesis-driven strategy, customer insight synthesis, and data-informed decision making.
  • Familiarity with human-centered design, agile methodologies, and modern product discovery and delivery frameworks.
  • A sense of humility, curiosity, and purpose-driven motivation to improve lives through better communication and smarter, more human health technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, economics, engineering, or other applicable field; Masters or PhD preferred

SEQUENCING HAS THE POWER TO SOLVE DIAGNOSTIC CHALLENGES.

From sequencing to reporting and beyond, our technical and clinical experts are providing guidance every step of the way:

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • High-quality testing: Our laboratory is CLIA certified and CAP accredited and most of our tests are also New York State approved.
  • Advanced detection: By interrogating genes for complex variants, we can identify the underlying causes of conditions that may otherwise be missed.

CLINICAL EXPERTISE

  • Thorough analysis: We classify variants according to our custom adaptation of the most recent guidelines. We then leverage our rich internal database for additional interpretation evidence.
  • Customized care: Our experts review all test results and write reports in a clear, concise, and personalized way. We also include information for research studies in specific clinical situations.
  • Impactful discovery: Our researchers continue working to find answers even after testing is complete. Through both internal research efforts and global collaborations, we have identified and published hundreds of new disease-gene relationships and developed novel tools for genomic data analysis. These efforts ultimately deliver more diagnostic findings to individuals.
