Job description

Our client is searching for a creative and visionary Senior Director of Design to lead the design function within their organization. This role is pivotal in shaping the aesthetic and functional elements of the company’s products and services, ensuring that design aligns with overall business objectives and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design team in developing innovative concepts and solutions that resonate with customers and elevate the brand.
  • Define and implement a cohesive design strategy that aligns with the overall vision of the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and engineering, to ensure design consistency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee all aspects of the design process from research and ideation to prototyping and final production.
  • Mentor and inspire the design team to foster a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously enhance the design process.
  • Present design strategies and concepts to senior leadership and stakeholders for feedback and alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a design role, with a focus on leadership and team management.
  • Proven experience in overseeing design projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative design work and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively advocate for design initiatives.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.).
  • Adept at conducting user research and applying insights to enhance design effectiveness.
