Job description

Sales Account Manager

The Truterra Commercial Account Manager is an expert for Truterra commercial offerings within the sustainability business at Land O’ Lakes. This position is responsible for positioning Truterra platforms and food, fuel, fiber, feed, and Livestock programs to downstream customers. Additionally, this role will work cross functionally to ensure we are connecting these customers to our network of producers and farmers through our Land O’ Lakes channel.

This position is a virtual/remote role that can be located anywhere in the United States

Strategy Execution and Commercial Account Management

  • Leads Truterra strategy execution by commercial account and ensures progressive growth for both existing and new accounts

  • Effectively implement company strategies by creating and executing strategic business plans by product line and key customers

  • Tracks performance indicators and ensures achievement; this includes aggressively closing sales with new and existing commercial accounts  

  • Partners with Agronomic Insights Manager to ensure customer contract and product delivery

  • Understands and owns market backed approach for programs to be connected with our upstream sales team (growers and retailers)

Prospecting

  • In collaboration with the Commercial Sales Team, responsible for generating new customer sales of various soil health products

  • Delivering high volume of outreach and prospecting through leads generated in various platforms and personal connections

  • Delivers Truterra platform overview, presentations, and communications to food, fuel, fiber, feed and livestock customers

  • Partners with various industry partners to explore event sponsorship, marketing and cross promotional opportunities to expand the presence of Truterra in the commercial space

  • Positions Truterra as a leader in the space amongst other industry professionals and connections

Sales Reporting and Administrative Functions

  • Customer maintenance, support and reporting all through Salesforce to ensure great detail on performance and progress with customers

  • Utilize Salesforce for marketing outreach to bring more awareness to Truterra outside of the existing customer base

  • Maintain a working list of prospects and opportunities within Salesforce to inform leadership of progress toward aligned sales goals

  • Remain knowledgeable about evolving guidance (SBTi, GHGP, etc) that impact our customer’s needs

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related field plus 7+ years of sales, account management or related experience

  • Skills in finance and risk management

  • Ability to work remotely and manage productivity accordingly

  • Experience using Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); virtual collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom); and CRM software (Salesforce)

  • Ability to travel up to 40%, including evenings while traveling and may require working long hours during peak seasons

  • Experience demonstrating agility and leading/adapting quickly to change

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many details and changes

  • Proactive and expert communicator with management and customers

  • Ability to provide winning examples through cross functional teamwork

  • Ability to See the “big picture” of the organization and understands how the key drivers of the business relate to each other, work together to produce profitable growth, and relate to the job

  • Must have current and valid state driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Food CPG and/or livestock experience preferred

  • Agriculture experience a plus

  • Experience with corporate sustainability, SBTi, Green House Gas Protocol

Hiring Range: $120,880 $181,320. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
