Job Title: Remote Accountant (100% Work From Home)


Location: Remote from Latin America


Position Type: Full-time


Salary: $1,500 - $2,000 USD/month


Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm Eastern Time



Our Client:

Our client is a civil construction services company founded in 2007. Originating during the Great Recession, the company initially focused on erosion control services. Over the years, our client has expanded its offerings to include site services, green infrastructure, utility installation, hydro excavation, and stormwater facility maintenance. In March 2024, the company moved to a new headquarters and added turnkey site development to its services.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year‐end financial statements/reporting packages for internal/external users Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger, record receipts, security deposits, etc.
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements to the general ledger
  • Maintain Chart of Accounts
  • Maintain Yardi SOPs and coordinate process changes
  • Maintain and process accounts payable
  • Coordinate AR collections and legal actions
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Work with property management team to prepare common area maintenance and real estate tax reconciliations
  • Assist property management team with preparation of annual operating budgets; identify and discuss budget variances on a monthly basis
  • Assist acquisition team with financial projects, record new property acquisitions
  • Coordinate collection of 1099 INT Form from lending facilities at year end
  • Prepare 1099 NEC/1099 MISC Forms to the vendors for the year
  • Prepare Income and Expense reports for the Director's review
  • Prepare property tax filings for the Director's review
  • Assist with quarterly and annual closeouts on as needed basis


Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies:

  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 2 years of general accounting experience
  • Experience in property management/real estate accounting is preferred
  • Excel proficient
  • Experience with Yardi or other real estate accounting software is preferred
