WORK TYPE: Remote

LOCATION DETAILS: The preferred location is Dallas, TX, however leadership is open to considering candidates who are remote. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel is minimal, some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

PAY RATE: The base salary range for this job is $165,000-205,000 annually plus the possibility of additional performance based incentives.

The base salary will vary based on criteria such as education, experience and qualifications of the applicant, location, internal equity, and alignment with the market.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

BSN SPORTS is currently seeking a Collegiate Vice President of Business Development for its Collegiate division to join our growing team. The role will require an individual to be very agile and savvy to oversee everything from Collegiate go-to-market strategy, licensing activities, sales force effectiveness, new customer growth Across Campus, and customer success. Key business objectives will be centered around the Collegiate Across Campus segment growth, coordination with Supply Chain Planning, Collegiate RFPs/Bids process improvements, and transformational changes to Licensing services.

The Collegiate Vice President will report to the Senior Vice President in our Collegiate division and will be a critical role in the company’s growth strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Partner with marketing resources to plan campaigns, assets and promotions for the Across Campus market segment
  • Lead the change management efforts when dealing with Field Sales; CRM activities, order entry guidelines and adherence to Collegiate Licensing rules
  • Work directly with Sales Operations teammates to drive improvements in sales motions that include but are not limited to RFPs/Bids, contract execution, customer success and futures
  • Oversee a strong pipeline of Across Campus opportunities to ensure annual sales goals are achieved
  • Support leaders of Collegiate Select sales to identify opportunities for improvements that create additional sales capacity, improved retention rates, and sales growth
  • Serve as the key point of contact with brand relationships that cover an entire campus; reaching beyond Athletic Departments for volume growth
  • Manage the Licensing activities at BSN SPORTS, extending a transformational vision for being an institution’s go-to partner for protecting, promoting and profiting from their brand
  • Own national relationships with multiple market verticals including but not limited to: Greek Life, Club Sport Associations, and the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA)
  • Support commercial activities that require leading or participating in presentations

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Business Acumen: Extreme agility and problem-solving skills
  • Customer Focus: Has a strong, outgoing personality and a passion for working with customers; proven ability to build strong internal / external customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions
  • Communication: Excellent communications, follow up, and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including confidence and presence to engage effectively with customers and/or senior executives.  Must be able to strategically and succinctly articulate messaging
  • Collaboration: Able to work cross functionally throughout the organization and build strong partnerships to meet shared objectives
  • Organization: Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables with competing priorities on tight deadlines; must have meticulous, focused attention to detail
  • Accountability: Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments; promotes a sense of urgency and establishes and enforces individual accountability
  • Decision Quality: Able to make good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
  • Strategic / Tactical Agility: Able to work with multiple stakeholders, develop, and execute information strategy while being able to manage day-to-day tactical activities to ensure commitments are delivered
  • Action Oriented: Takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm; proven performance demonstrating a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and is exceptional at recognizing and seizing opportunities

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of (10) ten years of progressive work experience in relevant field
  • Sales experience required
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence customers
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to meet customer needs
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple initiatives at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products a must
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while seeking new opportunities
  • Knowledge and appreciation of Collegiate Licensing requirements a plus
  • Experience working with or in Collegiate Campus environments a plus
