About the role

As our Senior Data Engineer, you'll be essential in achieving TestGorilla's vision of helping one billion people land their dream job. You'll be responsible for architecting and implementing data infrastructure and reporting needs, helping teams become data-driven, and creating data products for clients. This isn't just a role; it's your chance to make a real difference by having a wide impact, high visibility, and operating with autonomy while helping shape our HR Tech startup. Responsibilities

In this role, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Uphold TestGorilla's behaviors and foster an inclusive, supportive culture.
• Collaborate effectively with global colleagues across teams and time zones.
• Creating and maintaining data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Creating and maintaining dbt models.
• Creating and maintaining dashboards in our analytics tool.
• Triaging reporting requests from different departments.
• Creating data products that will be visible directly by our clients, such as Embedded Analytics, Data APIs or ML/LLM models.
• Working with infrastructure as code (in Terraform + AWS).

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about TestGorilla's mission to help one billion people find their dream jobs.
• Has strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
• Has a very good command of SQL and Python.
• Has previous experience with dbt.
• Has previous experience with Holistics or Looker (or similar: AQL or LookML).
• Has previous experience implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Has previous experience with infrastructure as code.
• Is good at stakeholder management and organizing requests in a dynamic environment.
• Is a highly collaborative person with a go-getter attitude that can thrive with little direction.
• Has excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts in plain English.

We typically expect candidates with at least 3+ years of experience in a Senior data position to have the skills mentioned above.
