Job description

The Position


The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Austral plays a crucial role in expanding the company's reach within the corporate sector by generating and qualifying new business opportunities. This role is ideal for an early-career professional eager to develop expertise in B2B sales, lead generation, and corporate relationship-building. Working closely with the Business Development and Marketing teams, the SDR is responsible for identifying potential clients, engaging prospects, and scheduling high-value meetings to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Research and identify potential corporate clients, proactively reaching out via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other communication channels.
  • Pipeline Development: Qualify leads through discovery calls, understanding their business needs, challenges, and interest in Austral’s corporate learning solutions.
  • Appointment Setting: Schedule meetings for the Business Development team with decision-makers in HR, Learning & Development, and other relevant corporate departments.
  • CRM & Data Management: Maintain accurate records of interactions, lead status, and pipeline activity in the company’s CRM system.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to enhance outreach strategies.
  • Collaboration with Sales & Marketing: Work closely with marketing and senior sales professionals to refine messaging and improve conversion rates.
  • Follow-Up & Nurturing: Manage ongoing communication with prospects, ensuring consistent engagement until they are ready for a sales conversation.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in sales, lead generation, or customer-facing roles (internship experience also considered).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with potential clients.
  • Ability to handle rejection, stay motivated, and consistently meet outreach targets.
  • A proactive, goal-driven mindset with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and outbound sales techniques is a plus.
  • Experience in B2B sales, especially in corporate training, HR solutions, or education services, is a bonus but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
