SUMMARY:
As the Chief Student Officer (CSO), you will be the voice of your fellow students, providing invaluable insights into their preferences, behaviors, and trends. Your primary role will be to create engaging student-led content, while also taking on a special project to benefit your peers. This is an exciting opportunity to gain real-life work experience, contribute to meaningful projects, and be featured on K12’s social media channels. You’ll gain hands-on experience in content creation and social media management, build a portfolio of work, and enjoy flexible hours.

Create weekly Chief Student Officer content for K12 corporate social channels
Research, ideate, and create engaging social media content (text, images, videos) tailored for different social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube etc.).
Social media trend analysis research on the latest social media trends, viral content, and platform updates. Be willing to discuss and create similar videos from those trends.
Help brainstorm new content ideas or campaign strategies
Assist in the execution of social media campaigns, such as giveaways, school updates, or campaign launches.
Provide student insight to the executive team, sharing perspectives on student preferences and emerging trends
Participate in team meetings providing feedback on student engagement, offering ideas
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently enrolled in a K12-powered high school (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior)
Ages 14 – 18
Strong interest in content creation, social media, and digital marketing
Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest)
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency
Ability to work independently and collaborate with staff
Punctual and have the ability to meet deadlines
Creativity, attention to detail and a passion for digital content
Good communication and storytelling skills
Ability to clear required background check
Parental consent to participate is required (for students under the age of 18 at time of employment)
Student must have or be able to get current work permit, if necessary, per state law
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledgeable in video editing software's (iMovie, Adobe premiere)
Experience with photography and videography
Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Procreate, Adobe Photoshop)
Previous content creation or social media experience

This position is virtual and open to residents of the 50 states, D.C.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
We anticipate this position will pay $15.00 per hour. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
