Job description

Overview
We’re seeking a Technical Writer to produce and maintain clear, concise documentation for our online property work order management software. You’ll collaborate with product managers, developers, and UX specialists (via virtual tools) to ensure accurate and user-friendly materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create & Update Documentation: Develop user guides, API docs, FAQs, release notes, and more; revise as features evolve.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with engineers, product managers, and QA to gather information and align content with product updates.
  • User-Focused Content: Translate complex technical concepts into accessible guides for property managers, field technicians, and administrators.
  • Quality & Consistency: Maintain a style guide, ensure consistent terminology, and conduct usability checks.
  • Content Management: Use version control and documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, Git) to organize and manage documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on technical writing best practices and implement new methods for delivering content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of technical writing experience (software/SaaS preferred).
  • Proficiency in documentation tools and creating visual aids (screenshots/video).
  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills; ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
  • Familiarity with property management software (preferred).
  • Comfortable working in a remote, agile environment with shifting priorities.
