About the role:

We are an AI-driven startup pioneering the development of a universal foundation model for biology. Our mission is to revolutionize biological research and innovation through cutting-edge technology. We’re seeking a seasoned and dynamic Product Marketer to help define and articulate our value proposition, establish our brand, and shape the trajectory of a billion-dollar business.

As our first marketing hire, you will be instrumental in defining how we communicate our vision, build our brand, and position our offerings in the marketplace. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You will work across all areas of marketing, from value proposition articulation and content creation to strategy development and go-to-market execution. The role will report into the COO.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Define and Articulate Value Proposition:
    • Collaborate with the founding team to define, refine, and articulate our value proposition in a way that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Craft clear, compelling messaging for various customer personas and segments.
  • Content Creation and Thought Leadership:
    • Develop high-quality, impactful content including product one-pagers, white papers, blog posts, case studies, sales presentations, and more.
    • Position the company as a thought leader in the AI and life sciences space through strategic storytelling and content marketing.
    • Work across diverse content types, including video, to deliver engaging and effective messages.
  • Brand Building and Positioning:
    • Establish and build our brand identity, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
    • Drive brand awareness campaigns to establish credibility in the market.
  • Marketing Strategy Development:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
    • Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, trends, and customer needs.
  • Go-to-Market Execution:
    • Work closely with technology, product, sales, and leadership teams to launch products and solutions effectively.
    • Build strategies for lead generation, demand generation, and customer acquisition.
  • Public Relations and Communications:
    • Develop and execute PR strategies to build credibility and visibility in the scientific and broader community.
    • Manage multi-channel communications, including overseeing and running our LinkedIn page and other digital platforms.
    • Foster relationships with media, influencers, and key opinion leaders in the AI and life sciences domains.
  • Community Building and Credibility:
    • Build and nurture a vibrant community of scientists, researchers, and industry stakeholders.
    • Develop initiatives to establish credibility within the scientific community, including events, collaborations, and partnerships.
  • Set the Stage for Growth:
    • Lay the groundwork for scaling the marketing team as the company grows.
    • Establish processes, tools, and best practices for long-term marketing success.
Who We Are Looking For:
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in product marketing, ideally at startups or companies in the AI and life sciences domains.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of AI technologies and the life sciences industry. Ability to translate technical concepts into impactful marketing messages.
  • Strategic and Tactical: Proven ability to develop high-level strategies and execute them with a hands-on approach.
  • Exceptional Content Creation Skills: Outstanding writer with experience creating compelling content across formats, including video. Strong editorial and design instincts.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to identify and articulate the commercial value of technology to various stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Ability to work cross-functionally with technology, product, sales, and leadership teams while building a high-performing marketing function.
  • Network and Relationships: Established connections in the AI and life sciences communities are a strong plus.
  • Versatility in Content Types: Proficiency in working across video, design, and multimedia content in addition to written formats.
  • Language: fluency in both written and spoken English is essential
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
