Summary:
Reporting to the SVP, Accounting, this pivot position will be responsible for managing the technical accounting assessments and providing technical accounting guidance support on a variety of complex transactions. The Technical Accounting Manager role will include drafting technical accounting white papers for potential transactions and communicating the implications of potential transactions with executive management as well as updating and managing required accounting documentation for various processes, such as CECL. This position will also assist in the continued build out and upkeep of consolidated accounting policies and procedures across all areas of the department.
This is an on-site (non-remote) position based at our Plano, TX headquarters location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assist with documentation of accounting policies and procedures, and develop an ongoing process to update as needed
- Assist with the buildout and upkeep of documentation around certain key accounting process, such as CECL
- On a quarterly basis, draft various technical accounting memorandums as required for certain estimates
- Draft white papers for complex transactions, as needed
- Additional duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Computer Skills, Certifications, etc.):
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Certified public accountant preferred
- Banking experience preferred
- A minimum of seven (7) years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferred
- Self-starter with a desire to learn and dig into detailed accounting analysis when needed
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
- Professional, positive attitude and demeanor
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel with vlookups and pivot tables, Word and Outlook
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
