Position Summary:
The Director, Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs) is a remote role that will be responsible for managing and leading a team of TLLs. This team lead will play a critical role in leading and developing a high-performing team of TLLs including providing strategic direction, mentoring team members, and ensuring the successful execution of key marketing initiatives. This position will report to the Senior Director, Thought Leader Engagement Strategy and Marketing Operations and will help support the continued growth of FILSPARI®. The Director, TLLs will collaborate cross-functionally on field activities as a strategic business partner with Marketing, Insights and Analytics, Sales management, Patient Advocacy, Compliance, Sales Training, Market Access, and Medical Affairs.

The preferred candidate will possess previous experience as a high performing TLL, strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a deep understanding of nephrology, ideally with a focus on rare kidney diseases. They will have a demonstrated a passion for driving impactful outcomes through engaging with thought leaders and building brand advocates.

Responsibilities:


• Strategic Leadership & Team Development:
o Contributes to the development of overall marketing strategies and cascades these strategies to the TLL team.
o Provides leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of TLLs, ensuring their professional development and success.
o Creates and executes individualized development plans for each TLL, focusing on skill enhancement and career growth.
o Monitors team performance and provides regular feedback to ensure the achievement of key objectives.
o In partnership with sales and medical field teams, plans and executes key account business plan.
• KOL Engagement & Relationship Management:
o Represents the TLL team on cross-functional initiatives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments.
o Identifies, cultivates, and maintains relationships with key regional KOLs on a priority list through 1:1 meetings, virtual interactions, and engagements at congresses.
o Tracks and measures team brand sentiment scoring and the movement of KOLs along the advocacy spectrum.
o Aggregates and communicates high-quality insights from KOL interactions to appropriate stakeholders.
• Program Management:
o Oversees the team's execution of key programs and initiatives, including conference engagements, speaker programs, national and regional advisory boards, and programs at key institutions.
o Manages the annual advisory board plan and speaker bureau plan, including speaker training, ensuring their effective implementation and continuous improvement.
o Continuously review and update territory plans and operationalize engagements with thought leaders through development and refinement of insight gathering processes
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Fosters strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Sales, Patient Advocacy, and Market Access, to ensure alignment and achieve shared goals.
o Key member and active participant of key account business planning team.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Continuously seeks opportunities to improve team processes, enhance communication, and increase the effectiveness of TLL activities.

Education/Experience Requirements:


• Bachelor’s degree in business or Life Sciences discipline. Advanced degree, MBA, MA preferred but not required. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered
• Previous thought leader liaison experience preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of related commercial experience in specialty or rare disease marketing.
• People management experience required.
• Demonstrated track record of taking on roles with increasing scope of responsibilities.

• Strong professional experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Well organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment.
• Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage complexity.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Successful record of creating and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
• Ability to adapt to modification and changes to project plans, demonstrating flexibility to implement new strategies and tactics to accommodate these changes.
• The position is field-based and the candidate must live in their region.
• Ability to travel 50-60% domestically. In the field a minimum of 3 days a week and some weekend work as required.
• All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.

Compensation: Our competitive compensation package includes a combination of both cash compensation (base pay and short-term incentive) and long-term incentive compensation (company stock), designed to recognize, retain, and reward employees.

Target Base Pay Range:

$181,000.00 - $235,000.00
