Custom Solution Support Engineer 

North America

The Position:

The Perseus Group, a division of Constellation Software (TSX:CSU), is seeking a Custom Solution Support Engineer for the Constellation HomeBuilder Systems group in the Markham, Ontario office. The role will report to the Director of Custom Development, Constellation HomeBuilder Systems. We are focused on changing the homebuilding industry through great software and services and are looking for exceptional people to join us. The custom projects team is looking for motivated polyglot developers to advance our ability to support and expand existing custom solutions in the home building domain. Delivered around our core ERP platforms, these solutions target unique needs of specific customers in various mission-critical aspects of their business, from sales to warranty, and span technology platforms from 4GL languages to Salesforce®. 

The role focuses on monitoring, debugging complex enterprise applications and integrations, as well as implementing appropriate remediation's and enhancements in collaboration with various internal, customer-based and partner organization teams. Acute situational awareness in complex IT environments, a sharp eye for critical details and the ability to quickly grasp the essence of the problem regardless of its origin are the required traits for this position.

Solid understanding of full-stack development on .Net/.Net Core platform is also a requirement, as is exposure to enterprise-grade integrations with line-of-business software and/or popular application platforms, primarily Salesforce, Hubspot and Microsoft SQL Server-based solutions, using both API-based and batch-style approaches. Familiarity with cloud platform ecosystems, such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Salesforce Mulesoft, and keen interest in DevOps infrastructure are major bonus points. 

This position is intended for individuals with a solid sense of urgency and will, from time-to-time, require work outside of normal business hours to align with infrastructure maintenance windows, solution deployments, and other major events.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring availability and performance of complex integration projects for key customer accounts

  • In-depth tracking, investigation, and root cause analysis of both functional and technical issues

  • Maintenance and enhancements to the customer specific codebases

  • Direct collaboration with core product development teams, customer and partner organizations on issue escalation and remediation

  • Customer-centric core ERP platform compatibility verification

  • Solution deployment plan execution and troubleshooting

Job Qualifications:

  • Personal resilience in the face of high-impact technical challenges

  • Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of .Net framework development in C#, including traditional .Net and .Net Core, ASP.Net MVC, ASP.Net Core and associated technologies

  • Strong grasp of API design patterns and their practical implementations in .Net and .Net Core (e.g. Swashbuckle/Swagger)

  • Familiarly with API and integration troubleshooting tooling such as Postman®, Telerik Fiddler, etc.

  • Good command of the SQL language, preferably on the Microsoft SQL Server platform, as well as general knowledge of relational database performance optimization

  • First-hand exposure to Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and/or integration middleware platforms, such as MuleSoft and Dell Boomi

  • Independence and ability to work with minimum supervision in close contact with customer and partner teams

  • An undergraduate or equivalent degree in a technical discipline is desired, but is not a requirement
