As we continue to expand through organic growth and acquisition growth, we are looking for a dynamic HR Generalist to bring our HR services to the next level.

 

Position Overview: We are a small but mighty HR team seeking an experienced HR professional with enthusiasm and creativity to join our growing HR team. Reporting to the VP Human Resources, the HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting employees and business functions across different sports verticals. The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, benefits, and training. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws and business acumen. This role will also work closely with the HR Director, People Operations Coordinator and People Operations Director.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & HR Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions, concerns, and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Support the HR Director in handling employee relations matters, including guiding employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance to employees on topics such as benefits, time off, and company policies, ensuring employees are well-informed and supported.

Policy & Compliance

  • Support the maintenance of an updated and distributed employee handbooks as necessary.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, staying current on regulatory changes and reporting any issues to HR leadership.

Performance Management Support

  • Assist the Performance Review process by providing recommendations on best practices, ensure employees understand the process/timeline, review evaluations for completeness and appropriateness through HR lens.
  • Assist in tracking performance management data and creating reports for HR leadership.

Employee Engagement, Culture & Development

  • Serve as the main point of contact for new hires on their first day, conduct New Hire Orientation ensuring a positive an “unrivaled” experience from Day 1, onward.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and programs, working with the HR Director to foster a positive work environment.
  • Help coordinate employee recognition programs, events, and activities that promote a strong company culture.
  • Design and implement employee training programs to address organizational needs and support professional development.
  • Track and maintain records of employee training and ensure compliance with any required certifications or training programs.

Continuous Improvement & HR Projects

  • Assist in change management efforts for new HR initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication across the organization.
  • Continuously assess and improve HR workflows, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts through the creation and maintenance of accurate and compelling job descriptions, sourcing and screening efforts and interviewing.
  • Assist with the creation and roll-out of Interview Training and other recruitment best practices, such as structured interview guides.
  • Serve as a team player and project manager on several HR projects to further enhance HR services, efficiencies, and solve business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist or similar role, with exposure to a broad range of HR functions.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and labor laws, with the ability to apply this knowledge to real-world situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a continuous improvement mind-set.
