Overview
Account Management professionals at Trade School are savvy client and agency leaders who keep creativity and business stewardship in balance. The Group Account Director ‘steers the ship’ and provides the big picture thinking for the client and agency. They are responsible for establishing and articulating a compelling long-term vision for the client’s business, the agency’s role and the team structure/talent.
Role Responsibilities
Has a deep understanding of Client business and structure and can articulate challenges and opportunities to Agency leadership
Ability to form trusted Client relationships
Provides high-level business/category context to arm the team with relevant knowledge to lead the work to success
Easily identifies opportunities for incremental projects and assignments with the agency’s goals in mind, while still solving a Client problem
Understands how to creatively solve business challenges and champions work that will best deliver success
Consistently demonstrate an analytical mindset to ensure relevant measurement plans are in place, and campaigns are performing against them
Willingness to tactfully challenge the norms and have tough conversations
Annual and/or project scope development, with proven ability to manage scope
Identify resources needed to effectively execute the scope, and can articulate the rationale
Manage hours and financials of the Client business, understanding pacing and profitability
Motivates and inspires high performance by modeling leadership
Aware of the health of the team at all times, and will advocate on their behalf
Ability to delegate (not micromanage) and ensure the team is supported and set up for success
Skills And Competencies
Can easily navigate the push and pull of Client and Agency goals to find the balance and success for both
Deep working knowledge of all Agency disciplines
Proven ability to develop cross-department partnerships for the benefit of the team and the work
Develops compelling and high-quality presentation content that influences the audience and results in selling the agency’s recommendation
Demonstrates confidence, authority, and levelheaded decision-making
Willingness to share a point of view
Lead by example, drive from the backseat, give credit for wins, and take accountability for missteps
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) required
10+ years of Agency experience
Proven history of exceptional performance in previous account management roles
Proven track record of developing high-performing talent
