SQL DBA

This is a remote position.

• Lead and manage the SQL database administration team, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management.
  
• Design, implement, and maintain robust database solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
  
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and upgrading of SQL Server software and related products.
  
• Monitor and optimize database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
  
• Develop and maintain database standards, policies, and procedures.
  
• Ensure database security by implementing and managing security measures such as encryption and access controls.
  
• Conduct regular database backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data.
  
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to design and review database schemas and queries.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and provide support during critical incidents.
  
• Perform capacity planning and data growth management.
  
• Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• 7+ years of experience in SQL database administration.
  
• Proven experience as a SQL DBA Lead or similar role.
  
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security.
  
• Experience with database design and development, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and indexing.
  
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
