Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems. This role will be responsible for administering Microsoft SQL Server, NoSQL, Oracle, Oracle OCI, cloud-based databases such as Azure SQL, Databricks, and Salesforce environments. The DBA will be essential in ensuring data integrity, performing daily backups and restores, implementing incremental backups, and periodically refreshing environments for optimal performance.


Job Responsibilities

Database Performance Optimization: 

  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing. 
  • Conduct regular audits and adjustments to ensure database performance.

Cloud Databases Management:

  • Administer cloud-based database solutions like Azure SQL and Databricks, ensuring data security, scalability, and availability.

Automation:

  • Implement automated backup, restore, and maintenance procedures where applicable to reduce manual intervention.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with developers, network teams, and other IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
  • Provide guidance and support for development and testing environments.
Requirements
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases, including high availability configurations and disaster recovery processes.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based database technologies, particularly Azure SQL and Databricks.
  • Experience with Salesforce databases and integration (knowledge of Salesforce or related tools is a plus).
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies, including incremental backups and full database restores.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/SQL) for automation.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, and scaling in cloud environments.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, including performance, integrity, and access issues.

Certifications (Preferred but not required):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
  • Oracle Certified Professional.
  • AWS or Google Cloud certifications (if applicable).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with teams across the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.


Remote Work Information

Compensation Information

The average salary for this position is expected to be between $90,000 and $140,000/year however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We do not anticipate candidates to be paid at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
