What You Will Do:
Forescout has an excellent opportunity for an engaging and employee-focused Sr. Corporate Counsel to join our high-energy, multi-cultural, world-changing team. In this role, you will partner with our engineering, product and marketing teams through the entire product lifecycle to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice to allow the teams to confidently navigate legal and regulatory obligations, while enabling business growth. In this role, your responsibilities may include:
• Subject matter expertise in product counseling, global data protection, intellectual property, and technology transactions with the ability and willingness to ‘flex’ to learn new areas of the law as needed.
• Partnering with product and engineering teams on all aspects of the product life cycle, leading cross functional collaboration to ensure alignment on product development and risk management.
• Advising on data governance strategies, including privacy-by-design, data use and responsible AI principles.
• Drafting and updating template agreements and serving as the escalation point for data privacy and IP provisions in both inbound and outbound commercial agreements, directly negotiating with customers and vendors.
• Anticipating and proactively solving contractual and privacy-related challenges for the business related to new product offerings.
• Supporting the development, commercialization and licensing of technology and IP assets, including issues related to open-source software, and providing support for IP portfolio management as needed.
What You Bring to Forescout:

• BA/BS degree and JD required
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience at a top law firm and/or in-house (a combination of both is preferred), with significant experience in product counseling, data privacy and intellectual property and direct experience advising product managers, developers and engineers.
• Technical background, including a degree in engineering and/or comparable experience; direct experience in cybersecurity is a plus.
• Self-starter, with a proven ability to identify issues, resolve problems, and take ownership to drive projects to completion with limited supervision.
• Exceptional attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability and drive to get things done.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sense of humor and commitment to professionalism.
