The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. Play is open to males and females from 8-18.
The HJGT administers over 350 events across the USA and also hosts events in Canada, China, and India. The HJGT has made a global impact in millions of lives over its 17 year history. We are an inclusive tour that is open to juniors of all skill levels. The HJGT was a disruptor when it came into the junior golf space in 2007 and we continue to serve that role with hosting top notch competitions, on premier golf courses, and providing our members with the best technology and innovation in the industry.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the HJGT. Currently the HJGT is the largest junior golf tour in the world hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour.
In 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced a partnership with Nexus, an international hospitality and entertainment company backed by financier Joe Lewis and Tavistock Group, golfing great Tiger Woods and musician and entertainer Justin Timberlake, which will further our collective goal of growing the game of golf, broadening the Tour’s reach across the U.S. and around the world.
Position Summary
This role is dynamic and plays a key part in enhancing HJGT's social media presence while creating engaging content for fans and participants. You will work alongside the in person operations intern team and capture content from all perspectives; the players, the parents, and the interns.
Requirements
Pursuing a degree in Business/Sports Management/Marketing or other related fields
Experience with managing Social media accounts and creating content
This is an unpaid internship, and you must receive at least one (1) credit for the onsite experience from an accredited College/University.
Must be within good standing of your College/University
Responsibilities
Content Creation: Edit and produce high-quality multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and photos, tailored for social media engagement.
Social Media Management: Develop and schedule daily posts across all HJGT social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.) to maintain an active online presence.
Creative Storytelling: Create engaging stories, reels, and posts that reflect the HJGT brand, highlight event moments, and capture the attention of the audience.
Trend Analysis: Monitor trends on social media platforms and integrate relevant, timely content into the HJGT’s posts.
Live Event Coverage: Provide real-time social media updates during tournaments or events, including live streaming, behind-the-scenes footage, or live posting.
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure content aligns with HJGT’s marketing goals and branding guidelines.
Performance Analysis: Track the performance of posts and social media engagement metrics, suggesting improvements to optimize content reach and impact.
Audience Interaction: Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and interacting with community content related to HJGT.
Content Archiving: Organize and archive all footage, photos, and digital media files for easy access for future content creation.
This role is dynamic and plays a key part in enhancing HJGT's social media presence while creating engaging content for fans and participants.

Hitting all marketing deadlines as well as assisting every department in their overall objectives
Grow social media by 40% during the time of the internship (All social combined)
Create profitable marketing/social campaigns for invitationals, products and etc

There are countless benefits to participating in the HJGT internship program. Interns will meet and interact with various groups of people and get to know the future stars of the PGA and LPGA tours. For example, interns will be around golf professionals, directors of golf, course superintendents, influential and successful sponsors, parents, and spectators. This internship is unlike many other programs because of the hands-on experience you will receive. Interns will be given daily tasks that have a substantial impact on the organization. You will learn how to manage people, manage departments, and problem solve in a fast and fun environment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the associate may be required to work varying schedules including nights and weekend to reflect the business needs of the company.
