Job description

Franklin Pierce University provides teacher licensure pathways in Elementary Education, Secondary English, Life Science and Social Studies, and General Special Education.  We are looking for an individual to serve as a part-time Graduate Education Adjunct Lecturer for Math and Science methods courses and additionally for Educational Leadership coursework. The graduate program is year-round, and the course work will be offered fully online. Applicants must have minimally a master’s degree and have taught in a public school system.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of the School of Education, the Education Adjunct Lecturer shall:

  • Teach online coursework related to teaching methods and best practices in education.
  • Utilize the CANVAS LMS system for the delivery of course work
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be:
  • Credentialed or have certification in a content area, as a Principal, or Superintendent, or have equivalent experience in educator preparation.
  • Master’s degree is required, terminal degree preferred, in Education or a related discipline.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applicants will:
  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with the course syllabus and University policy.
  • Update and revise course content and teaching methodology in order to maintain currency and relevance.
  • Maintain familiarity with current texts, materials, teaching aids and techniques relative to courses within the discipline and recommend their adoption when appropriate.
  • Actively seek ways to improve instruction.
