The AIS Cardiologist will report directly to the Chief Radiologist evaluating primarily Radiographs, Echocardiograms, and ECGs. This is a remote position and thiss position performs diagnostic evaluations in the area of Veterinary Cardiology in the pursuit of preventing, diagnosing and treating disease.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Remotely reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting Radiographs, Echocardiograms,, and ECGs through the means of telemedicine
  • Dictating medical evaluations using dictation software
  • Collaborative communications with colleagues through the AIS chat group, email, or phone. 
  • Consult with clients and other veterinary professionals through phone, email, or other forms of communication.
  • Interact with AIS technical support and other personnel
  • Provide support and conduct consults for the consultation services department as needed.
  • Be involved in regular AIS clinic rounds, journal club, employee meetings and professional enrichment which are held in an on-line format
  • Participate in Cardiology based CE as well as other applicable CE allowing applicants to stay current on new theories, diagnostic approaches and available treatments.
  • Participation in Quality Control programs
  • Maintain proficiency in clinical diagnostic skills
  • Assist in other duties relevant to Veterinary Cardiology and other lab services
  • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned/needed, including AI/ ML development
Education and Experience
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent
  • Diplomat of American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology)
  • Expertise interpreting radiographs, ultrasound, and ECGs
  • Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in respective state

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with clients and management is required
  • The ability to work effectively remotely with minimal supervision
  • Previous experience with Dragon software a plus.
  • Previous experience with Dicom viewers desirable
  • Fluency in the English language
