Role Summary/Purpose:

As the AVP, Product Marketing within the Go-to-Market organization, you will serve as the key strategic liaison between Product Management and cross-functional teams, translating technical product details into clear, compelling positioning, messaging, and go-to-market materials that resonate with target audiences, drive product awareness, and accelerate adoption of Synchrony’s product suite. In this role, deep knowledge of our products and services is essential to ensure accurate and impactful messaging and enablement. Robust project management skills are also critical, enabling you to drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure seamless execution from conception to completion.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Synchrony’s product portfolio

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate technical product features and data into differentiating messaging and audience-aligned value propositions and solution narratives that articulate the “why” behind each solution for multiple audiences: internal, B2B, B2B2C, etc

  • Play an integral role in go-to-market planning for new product launches, feature advancements, and capability announcements, leveraging your institutional knowledge and “connecting the dots”.

  • Utilize strong project management skills to coordinate cross-functional teams, establish timelines, manage resources, and track deliverables from ideation to execution.

  • Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends to ensure Synchrony’s product messaging is differentiated and market-relevant while also supporting Synchrony’s master brand strategy.

  • Advise product management on product-market fit; use data and feedback to refine strategy and accelerate adoption.

  • Influence stakeholders and ensure consistency and alignment across communications about the Synchrony product suite.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously; prioritize and execute for maximum business impact.

  • Contribute to special projects and support ad-hoc marketing needs as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. In lieu of degree High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 7+ years of marketing experience in financial services or credit card industry.

  • 4+ years in product marketing, with proven ability to craft positioning, launch new products, and drive adoption in a B2B and/or B2B2C environment.

  • 3+ years’ experience working with creative agencies and overseeing the production of marketing collateral.

  • Demonstrated project management expertise with success leading cross-functional teams, managing deadlines, and executing complex programs. Project management tool expertise highly desirable (e.g. Microsoft Planner, Workfront, Kanban board management, etc)

  • Demonstrated success collaborating directly with Product Managers and technical teams.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Synchrony’s product suite is essential.

  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking

  • Creative thinker with a knack for translating technical detail into relatable, B2B.B2B2C messaging that reflects the voice of the customer.

  • Ability to simultaneously manage strategic and tactical execution in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong product marketing skills including experience developing value proposition, branding/positioning and marcom materials that support commercialization

  • Ability to build strategic relationships across functions and levels - comfortable interacting with senior business leaders, presenting to all levels of the organization and gaining buy-in.

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to drive desired results (ability to lead via influence with a consultative approach)

  • Excellent writing, visual and presentation/communications skills

  • Proven success in marketing roles requiring self-direction and extensive interaction working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment

  • Solid blend of strategic thinking and execution.

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
