Development Assistanton behalf of our client, a leading mission-driven nonprofit organization based in
Washington, DC! This
full-time, hybrid,contract-to-hire opportunity is an exciting chance for a passionate development professional to support strategic institutional fundraising efforts in collaboration with a high-performing development team.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer with exceptional attention to detail, experience in grant writing and reporting, and a commitment to social justice. They are organized, deadline-driven, and enthusiastic about using their communication skills to support high-impact philanthropic partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft compelling and accurate grant reports that demonstrate progress on funded programs and initiatives
- Respond to inquiries from current and prospective institutional donors in collaboration with the development team
- Write a range of materials including letters of intent, cultivation pieces, and grant proposals for foundations and corporate partners
- Maintain organized records and databases to track funder communications, reporting requirements, and deadlines
- Monitor reporting activity and ensure timely submissions through internal grant tracking systems
- Support preparation of presentations and briefing materials for funder meetings and internal planning
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong experience in nonprofit development, institutional giving, or a philanthropic setting
- Strong grant writing, editing, and professional communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping
- Familiarity with fundraising databases (e.g., Salesforce, Raisers Edge) is a plus
- Commitment to advancing civil rights, racial justice, and equity
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This
contract-to-hire position offers a competitive hourly rate of
