The HR Generalist/Recruiter provides a variety of routine, complex, and human resource services in support of HSPPR operational initiatives and goals for all 5 locations of HSPPR. This position will also manage the recruitment of open positions throughout HSPPR through the full cycle of interviewing to onboarding.
Responsibilities
Review resumes and job applications using HRIS/ Applicant Pro database
Assist hiring managers by conducting regular check-ins to understand the needs of their department, by scheduling candidate interviews, and by participating in interview process (as appropriate)
Assist in recruitment efforts by participating in job fairs and community outreach to employment organizations
In conjunction with the Senior Human Resources Manager and/or the Human Resources Director, assist supervisors and managers to ensure proper documentation and delivery of corrective actions to address staff attendance, performance and behavior issues
Escalate requests for termination of employment for proper approval in advance of final check preparation. Will facilitate termination meetings when required.
Join HR team in conducting various HR training programs, as scheduled
Coordinate on-site meetings for employees to attend HR initiatives (benefit enrollment / 401K meetings / professional development / etc.)
Serve as a point person for staff employee-relations concerns
Field and facilitate Q&A regarding HR questions; escalate issues as appropriate
Facilitate (plan, set-up and roll-out) initiatives of social squad, all-staff meetings, and other on-site events and activities as it best serves all HSPPR locations
Participate in Safety committee and other committees to ensure representation and deliverables are coordinated at all levels of the organization
Maintain current HR files and other records
Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
Contribute to HR team with suggestions that facilitate continuous improvement and current \"best\" HR practices

Consistently exposed to animals in the workplace and animal allergens under conditions with limited alternatives available.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Regularly exposed to noise and potential exposure to hazardous weather conditions.
Potential exposure to cleaning supplies and/or other substances containing toxic or caustic chemicals.
Schedule Requirements
Five eight-hour shifts (will include at least one weekend day) NOTE: Schedule for this position will be Tuesday through Saturday (Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday on-site at our Pueblo location and Wednesday & Thursday on-site at our Colorado Springs location)
Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Requirements
Able to effectively read, write, interpret, communicate, perform basic problem solving, and perform basic math as commonly expected from completion of a High School Diploma or Equivalent Education.
3+ years experience in human resources as a Generalist or multi-faceted HR experience
Strong computer skills and working knowledge in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Not-for-profit recruiting experience a plus
Experience with Paylocity a plus
PHR/SPHR certification a plus
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and rapport at all levels of the organization
Communicate clearly, both written and verbally with staff and in group presentations and meetings
Able to effectively read and interpret information
Strong time management skills; Able to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
Organized, accurate, thorough and able to monitor work for quality
Prompt and dependable, able to follow instructions, work independently, respond to management direction, and able to improve performance through management feedback
Able to research and apply the most current federal, state and local employment laws to ensure compliance.
