Job description

Position Summary:

Based in Manila, Philippines, the Recruitment Manager reports directly to the Regional Director, East Asia & Middle East. This role is primarily responsible for the professional and efficient coordination of all recruitment activities and projects within the Philippine market.

The Recruitment Manager leads recruitment and promotional efforts across the Philippines, providing expert advice and support to prospective students, families, education agents, and university staff. They play an active role in driving student recruitment initiatives to meet or exceed enrolment targets.

The Recruitment Manager contributes to maintaining and expanding the Philippine market, ensuring alignment with overall load targets. They also support market analysis, strategic planning, and relationship management under the broader guidance of the Regional Director, East Asia & Middle East.

This position is part of the Recruitment and International Operations (RIO) portfolio. As the Recruitment Manager for the Philippines, you will collaborate closely with the central Admissions Team and Marketing to deliver a seamless, end-to-end service for prospective and incoming students. You will also engage with key stakeholders, including students, staff, industry partners, and the local community, to provide outstanding service and ensure industry-leading response times. Staff within Recruitment and International Operations are expected to maintain a professional, positive, and solution-focused approach in all tasks and interactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertakes planning involving resources use and develop proposals for resource allocation.
  • Work at this level may require the ability to investigate, interpret or evaluate information where considerable interpretation of existing regulations, policies or procedures is required.
  • Applies theoretical (or policy) and technical knowledge to design, review, develop or test complex equipment, systems or procedures.
  • Performs tasks/assignments which require proficiency in the work area's existing rules, regulations, processes and techniques and how they interact with other related functions, and adapts those procedures and techniques as required to achieve objectives without impacting on other areas.
  • Applies appropriate expertise and uses judgement to make decisions where solutions are not obvious, to deliver professional services to meet customer requirements.
  • Identifies additional service requirements or service shortfalls and coordinates and/or designs the delivery of innovative solutions to maximise service quality, efficiency and continuity.
  • Ensures professional and quality service standards are maintained and applied within own area of activity.
  • Identifies and makes recommendations (e.g. in policies and procedures) to contribute to the operational improvement of the team and Division.
  • Has a detailed knowledge of relevant policies, systems and procedures and understands how they relate to and impact on International and domestic student admissions, credit, short courses and any related aspects.
  • Performs processing activity that supports the execution of admission related activities in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with and provide support, and advice to the team, staff within Schools, and other internal and external stakeholders on student matters related to team functions.
  • Operates as an individual responsible for the organization and delivery of admission related work, to meet Division and subunit objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in international student recruitment, preferably within the Philippines or Southeast Asia region, including managing relationships with educational agents, overseeing their performance against budgets and recruitment targets.
  • Strong knowledge of the Philippine education market and key stakeholder networks, including agents, schools, Government organizations and community groups.
  • Understanding of the Australian secondary and tertiary education systems
  • Sound understanding of the Australian immigration system and student visa processes relevant to international student recruitment.
  • Strong analytical skills, including market analysis, reporting, and using data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve recruitment targets.
  • Comprehensive experience in using computer applications including databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and web technology.
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative, to think strategically and creatively, monitor and evaluate work performance and flow and meet deadlines in a complex and demanding environment.
  • High level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills coupled with cultural sensitivity and knowledge to be able to operate independently at high levels and to achieve desired outcomes in a variety of international and cultural contexts.
  • Demonstrated customer service and relationship management experience across a diverse range of countries.
  • Native level Tagalog language skills and an advanced level of spoken and written English language.
  • Highly refined presentation and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
