The Senior Full Stack Engineer – Data Platform Development is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance data systems. This includes developing APIs and microservices using technologies like Python, Node.js, or Java to support data workflows, metadata management, and authentication. The engineer builds and maintains ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Prefect-dbt, and Databricks, integrating data from APIs, databases, and streaming platforms like Kafka.
You will design and optimize both relational and non-relational databases, ensuring performance through indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies. The role also involves managing cloud infrastructure and deployments on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, along with implementing CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems.
Security and compliance are key responsibilities in this role as well including encryption, access control, and audit logging to meet standards like HIPAA. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals and begins to influence departmental strategy through architectural recommendations and technology evaluations. You will operate with minimal supervision and make independent decisions on complex technical challenges.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and testing software applications and/or infrastructure
Proficiency in programming, preferably in Python
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and cloud-based data platforms
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
Experience with Databricks, including data engineering, data science, and analytics workloads
Familiarity with data storage solutions such as data lakes, data warehouses, and NoSQL databases
Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
Strong understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, testing, and version control (Git)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
