Job Title: Cloud DevOps Engineer Python & laC Focus

Location: Hybrid, Toronto, Canada

Experience:

Role Summary

NearSource is looking for a skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer to support infrastructure automation and scalability initiatives for a Fortune 500 product company. This role will focus on Python scripting, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD reliability within cloud-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform and Ansible
  • Drive deployment automation, CI/CD integration, and pipeline enhancements
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, monitoring, and orchestration
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on Azure or AWS for high availability and security
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure consistent environments across development and production
  • Oversee source control workflows using Git and GitHub
  • Implement monitoring and observability using tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or ELK
  • Manage artifact and package repositories (e.g., Artifactory, NuGet, Conan)
  • Support containerization strategies using Docker and orchestration via Jenkins

Must-Have Skills

  • Proficient in cloud platforms: Azure or AWS
  • Strong experience with Python for scripting and automation
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Hands-on with CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins
  • Experience with Git/GitHub workflows
  • Skilled in monitoring/logging tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK)
  • Excellent communication skills in English

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
  • Experience with artifact/package management tools like Artifactory, NuGet, or Conan

Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
