Position Summary 

The position of Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and packaging of Consumer Loans from application to closing. The Consumer Loan Processor will work closely with internal staff, customers, and 3rd party vendors through the entire loan process. The Consumer Loan Processor will partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Administration, Loan Operations & Servicing Oversight to successfully implement new products and services.    

This position is located in our downtown Seattle office and requires full-time, in-person work.   


Essential Duties 

  • Physically attending work on a set and predictable schedule is an essential function of this job.   
  • Process consumer loans under various programs in a quality consistent with all company policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements.    
  • Maintains a pipeline of loans and is responsible for the timely and compliant flow of such loans from Application through Loan Servicing   
  • Enters all required data and documentation into loan origination system and follows-up and communicates with customers to obtain missing or updated documentation as efficiently as possible.   
  • Requests and reviews any necessary supporting documentation, including credit checks, title reports, appraisals, tax returns, verifications of employment/assets, flood certification, etc., and ensures that the information is complete, accurate and complies with company standards, applicable regulations, and guidelines.   
  • Analyze borrower loan-to-value ratio, debt-to-income ratio, credit report, application, income and assets, source(s) of down payment funds to ensure accuracy and compliance with underwriting requirements.   
  • Order and review preliminary title reports for accuracy and coordinate the clearing of title issues/exceptions, ensuring proper lien position is secure.   
  • Assists with the implementation of new consumer products, services and third-party agreements.   
  • Integrates new product workflows into existing processes and systems.   
  • Ensures that loan origination system is maintained by vendor and that all system issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner.  
  • Assist Consumer Loan Operations Manager with special projects related to streamlining workflows, procedures, and systems.   
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations and completes all required annual or job-specific training.    
  • Keeps up to date on applicable regulation changes.   
  • Provides quality customer service to all internal and external clients at all times.  
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned. 
Requirements
  • Due to the collaborative nature of this position, it requires daily in-person work. [After a 90-day training period, this position allows for one day of work from home each week.] No exceptions will be granted.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred.    
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.    
  • Experience processing Consumer Unsecured, Consumer Secured, Conventional, 2nd Mortgage and/or Home Equity Line of Credit loans.   
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of federal and state lending guidelines, rules, and regulations, including TRID and HMDA.   
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment where change is expected, and processes/procedures are constantly evolving.   
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, read, analyze and interpret documents, understand procedures, speak clearly to customers and fellow employees.   
  • Experience with Finastra products - LaserPro, MortgageBot and Doc Magic is preferred.  
  • Experience in Consumer Loan Servicing is a bonus.   
  • Must be proficient with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel.   
  • Tactfulness and proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.   
  • High energy, self-motivated, and service-oriented attitude.   
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with the flexibility for changing priorities; the ability to work with constant interruptions.   
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.   
  • Willing to assist with special projects and help other departments as needed.   
  • Must display a strong team attitude and have excellent professional skills.

Salary Description
$65,000 - $80,000 per year
