Prysmian, in partnership with a fast-growing, dynamic start-up, is seeking a  Junior Software Development Engineer to join our team of innovators. Be at the forefront of developing groundbreaking high-capacity optical fibers designed to power the future of AI and cloud computing.

Your main tasks:

• Monitoring and supporting daily operations in the area of ICT (for example, check log files, solve problems that hinder daily operations and support users);

• Analysing and developing new software as well as modifying existing software;

• Testing new software and modifications;

• Performing research of various subjects in the area of ICT software development.

The management of the fibre production process is done by the MES (Manufacturing execution system) named OFIS (Optical fibre information system). This is a custom made application. OFIS is crucial for the production process. When OFIS is not running the production will also stop and when mistakes are made in the OFIS system, this can have severe consequences for the quality of the products and the yield.

You work on the development of new functionalities and support the users of OFIS.

As an Jr. Software Development Engineer at Prysmian:

• You completed an education in ICT on HBO (Higher Professional Education) level;

• You have affinity with business processes;

• You have good communication skills and you are fluently in Dutch and English;

• You are motivated an pragmatic;

• You have knowledge of the following ICT systems:

• HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Java

• jQuery/AngularJS/Spring Web MVC

• Netbeans IDE/RESTful web services

• Apache Tomcat/HTTP

• Oracle database/PLSQL/SQL

• Linux

Jr. Software Development Engineer 

om deel uit te maken van ons team van vernieuwers en innovators. Loop voorop bij de ontwikkeling van baanbrekende optische vezels met hoge capaciteit die ontworpen zijn om de toekomst van AI en cloud computing aan te drijven. 
 

Jouw belangrijkste taken: 

• Bewaken en ondersteunen van dagelijkse werkzaamheden op ICT-gebied (bijvoorbeeld logbestanden controleren, problemen oplossen die de dagelijkse werkzaamheden belemmeren en gebruikers ondersteunen); 

• Analyseren en ontwikkelen van nieuwe software en aanpassen van bestaande software; 

• Testen van nieuwe software en aanpassingen; 

• Onderzoek doen naar verschillende onderwerpen op het gebied van ICT softwareontwikkeling. 

Het beheer van het vezelproductieproces wordt gedaan door het MES (Manufacturing Execution System) genaamd OFIS (Optical Fibre Information System). Dit is een op maat gemaakte applicatie. OFIS is cruciaal voor het productieproces. Als OFIS niet draait, stopt ook de productie en als er fouten worden gemaakt in het OFIS-systeem, kan dit ernstige gevolgen hebben voor de kwaliteit van de producten en de opbrengst.  

Je werkt aan de ontwikkeling van nieuwe functionaliteiten en ondersteunt de gebruikers van OFIS. 

Als een Jr. Software Development Engineer bij Prysmian: 

• Je hebt een opleiding ICT op Hbo-niveau afgerond; 

• Je hebt affiniteit met bedrijfsprocessen; 

• Je bent communicatief vaardig en spreekt en schrijft vloeiend Nederlands en Engels; 

• Je bent gemotiveerd en pragmatisch; 

• Je hebt kennis van de volgende ICT systemen: 

• HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Java 

• jQuery/AngularJS/Spring Web MVC 

• Netbeans IDE/RESTful web services 

• Apache Tomcat/HTTP
