Job description

Senior Information Security Engineer (Remote)

Our client, a leader in technology-enabled healthcare services, is looking for a Senior Information Security Engineer to take ownership of their security infrastructure while supporting compliance and documentation efforts. This is a hands-on technical role, with 80% focused on security engineering and 20% on compliance and policy development.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced security measures, tools, and frameworks to protect company systems and sensitive data.
  • Monitor company infrastructure for threats, conduct incident response, and ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning.
  • Spearhead compliance efforts with frameworks like SOC 2, HITRUST, and HIPAA, including audit support and documentation.
  • Select, integrate, and manage security tools such as IAM, SIEM, VPN, MFA, intrusion detection, and antivirus solutions.
  • Conduct risk evaluations, vulnerability assessments, and periodic security audits to strengthen the company’s overall security posture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security policies align with business objectives and technical requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise:
    • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with security engineering, including tools like IAM, SIEM, VPN, MDM, MFA, and intrusion detection systems.
    • Strong ability to configure, manage, and maintain security technologies in an enterprise environment.
  • Compliance Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with SOC 2, HITRUST, and HIPAA frameworks, with experience contributing to audits and compliance processes.
    • Strong documentation skills for policies, procedures, and configurations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Demonstrated success in identifying and remediating threats while minimizing operational impact.
  • Education and Certifications:
    • A bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
    • Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are a strong plus.
