Responsibilities
Decontaminating and cleaning surgical instruments, medical devices, and equipment.
Operating sterilization equipment such autoclaves to ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
Clean and turn over rooms.
Managing and maintaining an inventory of sterile supplies and equipment.
Rotating stock to ensure that items with expiration dates are used before they expire.
Documenting and maintaining accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
Following established protocols and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Performing routine maintenance on sterilization equipment and reporting any malfunctions.
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines related to sterile processing.
Responding to emergency situations, such as instrument recalls or urgent sterilization needs.
