Job Summary:
Provides support during the review, development and implementation of assigned Supply Chain systems applications. Responsible for the ongoing production support and processing of assigned supply chain systems applications including system testing, analysis, and problem resolution.
Job Duties:
- Develops and maintains, on a current basis, functional and technical expertise in assigned areas of supply chain systems and business operations.
- Maintains understanding of data fields utilized, data flow and system capabilities and limitations including web and PC applications.
- Serves on implementation teams with responsibility for specific task assignments including definition of system functionality, system capability testing, defining reporting requirements and developing reports.
- Participates in the definition of user system requirements and provides recommendations to management concerning the selection, development and design and implementation of system features that will provide cost-effective strategies to meet department and organizational needs.
- Maintains analytical and technical skills required for effective use of system features and development of appropriate procedural controls and complete understanding of system features.
- Utilizes creative insight over and above system capabilities.
- Reviews and recommends appropriate action on user requests for services, ranging from explanations of systems activities to the understanding and analysis of user needs, preparation of reports or automation of processes.
- Works with users to determine reporting requirements.
- Provides support and direction for application users toward the development of solutions to operational problem areas as well as compliance with governmental regulations and changes.
- Conducts meetings and serves as member of application support teams for assigned financial systems.
- Develops and maintains expertise in ERP tools and utilizes those tools to develop advanced automated solutions.
- Develops and maintains appropriate documentation and procedure manuals as needed.
- Prepares and presents training to end users or other Supply ChainSystems staff as needed.
- Provides project support as assigned to include, but not limited to, testing tasks and documentation.
- Assists with project management tasks as assigned.
- Develops and maintains report writing expertise.
