Job description

Job Summary:

ACT Innovations is seeking a Strategic Development Representative to generate new business opportunities for our DCCM platform, built specifically for treatment courts. This is a high-activity role focused on outbound phone and digital outreach—identifying key decision-makers, setting up demos, and supporting the sales process.

You’ll need to be resourceful, self-motivated, and comfortable with cold calling, rejection, and working with limited resources. You’ll collaborate closely with our internal team, participating in demos and guiding next steps. If you're proactive, organized, and passionate about making an impact in the justice system, we want to hear from you.

Job Description:

About Us:
ACT Innovations provides solutions for lab management, drug testing, and court management via our DCCM (Drug Court Case Management) and Paracelsus drug testing management software. We are dedicated to delivering innovative technology that streamlines operations and enhances efficiency. Our commitment to excellence has positioned us at the forefront of the industry, and we are now seeking a driven Strategic Sales Representative to expand our customer base and drive sales growth.

Job Description:
As a Strategic Sales Representative, your primary responsibility will be generating qualified demos for our DCCM platform through proactive digital and phone outreach. This is a high-activity role that requires comfort with cold calling, resilience in the face of rejection, and persistence in reaching decision-makers—often through gatekeepers. You’ll be expected to take initiative in identifying prospects, conducting outreach, and logging your activity to build and maintain a robust pipeline.

We don’t have a fully built database of contacts, so success in this role requires someone who is highly resourceful, scrappy, and unafraid to dig in and find the right people to talk to. You’ll partner closely with our senior sales and solution engineering teams to prepare for and deliver impactful demos once meetings are booked.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive top-of-funnel activity by conducting outbound phone and email outreach to introduce DCCM to new prospects.

  • Identify and research key decision-makers within courts, justice agencies, and government-funded programs.

  • Make a high volume of outbound calls and follow-ups, consistently working past gatekeepers to reach the right individuals.

  • Track all activity in Salesforce, including call logs, emails, lead status, and follow-up reminders.

  • Take initiative to build your own outreach lists using online research and internal referrals.

  • Work closely with our internal team to hand off qualified leads and participate in product demos, helping introduce the solution and guide next steps.

  • Stay informed about treatment court trends and funding developments to identify strategic outreach opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of sales, outreach, or SDR experience, preferably in B2B or SaaS

  • Proven experience with high-volume cold calling and digital outreach

  • Resourceful and self-directed—able to find contact info and build lists with limited resources

  • Comfortable hearing “no,” pushing past gatekeepers, and staying motivated in a high-rejection environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational habits with the ability to log activity, follow up on time, and manage leads independently

  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM required

  • Experience within the criminal justice or court systems is a plus but not required

  • Willingness and ability to travel to industry events or client meetings when necessary

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

Additional Notes:
This is a remote role open to candidates across the U.S. and Canada. We’re looking for someone scrappy, mission-driven, and relentless when it comes to opening doors. If you’re energized by outreach and eager to contribute to meaningful work in the justice system, we’d love to hear from you.
