FleishmanHillard’s Japan operations were founded in 1997 and expanded through pure organic growth into a portfolio of branded specialties offering full-service communications consulting to foreign and domestic MNCs and governmental organizations.

The Japan office has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Account Executive to join our growing team. In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to build and maintain relationships with top Japanese clients, work closely with the media, and put your solid research, writing, and client management skills to use. You will advance brand communications objectives that embrace the client’s strategy and positioning, and be an integral part of one of the most successful teams in the office.

Core Responsibilities

  • Involved in implementing compelling B2B and/or B2C public relations/communications programs.
  • Involved in day-to-day client servicing and coordination for Japanese and international clients.
  • Involved in planning and executing projects by setting priorities and closely maintaining deadlines.
  • Involved in building relationships with national and regional media.
  • Involved in coordinating projects with other FH offices in Asia.
  • Involved in developing and editing high-quality materials, including media correspondence, bylines, and speaking abstracts.

Key Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an agency or corporate communications department, media, production, journalism, and/or marketing is a plus.
  • Excellent speaking and writing abilities (both English and Japanese).
  • Passionate about any kind of communication, including digital and social.
  • Enjoy working on an international platform and working with teams across the Asia Pacific.
  • Able to engage and develop media relationships with respective reporters, help to develop compelling story pitches, and secure stories in mainstream business media.
  • Understanding of and some experience working with digital media outlets, including social networking sites and bloggers.
  • Some project and event management skills, ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Some client service skills, strong organizational skills, and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Energetic, self-starter, and eager to learn.
