Location:
Remote (CST or EST Time Zone)
Salary Range:
up to 2200 USD

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (CST/EST)

About the Company:

Our client is a leading dermatology practice with over 40 years of experience, 186+ providers, and 80+ locations across seven states. They specialize in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology and are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.

Position Overview:

The Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage billing workflows with payers and patients, ensuring claims are processed accurately and denials are resolved promptly. You'll be the liaison between insurance companies, the billing team, and clinical staff to maintain clean receivables and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and submit insurance claims accurately and on time.
  • Follow up on open claims, research denials, and resubmit as needed.
  • Manage self-pay billing and patient balances.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation in the EHR and billing system.
  • Identify denial trends; escalate issues to RCM leadership.
  • Process write-offs and adjustments for uncollectible accounts.
  • Collaborate with Billing Customer Service and clinical teams for account inquiries.
  • Meet defined productivity and accuracy standards.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 2+ years' experience with medical billing software and EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance plans, billing guidelines, and appeals processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Clear written and verbal English communication.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with healthcare EDI transactions and clearinghouses.
  • Experience identifying and reporting process improvements.
  • Previous remote collaboration with U.S.-based teams.
