The Global Commodity and Strategic Sourcing Manager works in partnership across Collins Business Units creating and executing sourcing strategy and commodity management activities to sustain and contribute to the overall supply chain and business objectives for the Engineered Items Commodity/Sub-Contracts Team.  The senior manager is experienced, works closely with contracts, transitions and execution teams as well as with key stakeholders such as Business Unit Cost Leads, Engineering, Quality, Special Process, Supplier Performance, and Compliance.

This individual will ideally work a hybrid role in Cedar Rapids, IA but remote is a possibility.

What You Will Do:

  • Manages execution of commodity / account management and sourcing strategy.

  • Develops supplier selection process, meeting the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply; seek/develop new qualified sources of supply

  • Negotiates Master Terms, Long Term Agreements, Price Agreements, Terms & Conditions, and other Settlements or Disputes within specified spending limits.

  • Identify opportunities to convert spot purchase orders to existing Long Term Agreements.

  • Develop and implement strategy execution to improve Long Term Agreement coverage across the business units with the supply base.

  • Align and obtain stakeholder approvals for negotiations.

  • Ensure contract negotiations support cost savings target.

  • Closely support cost reduction and cost management process and projects.

  • Manages sourcing strategies, shares best practices, and defines acceptable service levels.

  • Validates accuracy of price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.

  • Develops a strategic plan for part families or strategic suppliers.

  • Responsible for overall relationship with one or multiple strategic accounts across a given commodity.

  • Leads sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature.

  • Ensures supplier or commodity is performing to the designed RTX requirements from delivery, quality, and cost perspective.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have::

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

  • 3+ years prior experience in supply chain

  • 2+ years experience negotiating contracts

  • 2+ years of prior project management experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience with glass and optics

  • Experience with cost reduction activities with suppliers

  • Experience using cost sensitivity to improve bottom line

  • Process design and governance (standard work) experience

  • Experience as project integrator across multiple teams and business segments

  • Technical aptitude

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
