Position Summary
Sepsis Alliance is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data and CRM Analyst with strong Salesforce skills to support the organization’s data systems, reporting, and analytics. As the nation’s leading sepsis organization, Sepsis Alliance is dedicated to saving lives and reducing suffering by improving sepsis awareness and care. This role plays a key part in advancing that mission by delivering accurate data insights that inform strategic decisions across programs, development, marketing, and operations.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Finance, the Data and CRM Analyst will ensure data integrity, build and maintain dashboards and reports, and support organizational performance through thoughtful data analysis. They will work closely with Sepsis Alliance’s Salesforce Administrator (a contractor) to optimize system functionality, manage updates and integrations, and align the CRM platform with evolving organizational needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior- to mid-level professional with strong technical skills and a passion for using data to drive nonprofit impact. The ideal candidate is analytical, inquisitive, and comfortable translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.     Key Responsibilities

    Salesforce Administration and Data Management

    • Serve as the internal point of contact for Salesforce support, reporting, and data requests, including help desk inquiries such as account/contact merges, assorted system issues, and data updates.
    • Collaborate with the Salesforce Admin to manage system architecture, troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and test new features.
    • Perform routine database maintenance including data hygiene, record updates, and merging duplicate records.
    • Maintain user roles, profiles, and permissions to ensure secure and efficient system access.
    • Assist with data imports, exports, and integrations using Salesforce tools and third-party platforms.
    • Update Salesforce fields, accounts, mapping parameters, and fund designations.
    • Create, edit, and test forms and surveys using platforms such as FormAssembly, JotForm, or FormTitan, ensuring accurate mapping to Salesforce.
    • Manually upload and enter bulk payments, contact and account records, and other data as required.

    Reporting and Evaluation

    • Forecasting in partnership with finance and predictive modeling.
    • Analyze engagement, fundraising, and programmatic data to support business development, fundraising, and program strategy.
    • Deliver regular performance reports and ad hoc analysis to inform team decisions.
    • Support staff reporting needs and provide guidance and training on creating, editing, understanding, and exporting Salesforce reports.
    • Organize and maintain Salesforce report libraries to ensure accessibility and ease of use.
    • Review, analyze, and summarize weekly, monthly, and annual reports, identifying inconsistencies, errors, and trends.
    • Create data visualizations and summaries that are clear, actionable, and tailored to the intended audience.
    • Review feedback survey results regularly to identify actionable items and follow-up needs.
    • Support the development of metrics and KPIs across departments.
    • Consult with Finance staff to support monthly reconciliation between systems and ensure consistency in reporting.
    • Build and manage custom reports and dashboards for various teams and leadership.

    Cross-Department Collaboration

    • Collaborate with fundraising, marketing, and program teams to track and measure outreach, donor behavior, and program impact.
    • Assist staff in learning and applying best practices for data entry, reporting, and CRM usage.
    • Provide data support for grant proposals and reporting needs.
    • Participate in cross-functional planning efforts with a focus on how data can drive insights.
    • System Optimization and Projects
    • Identify opportunities for process automation and workflow improvements within Salesforce.
    • Assist with documentation and training materials for internal Salesforce procedures.
    • Coordinate with the Salesforce Admin to support special projects, integrations, and tool selection.

    Qualifications

    • 2–3 years of professional experience working with Salesforce CRM (as an admin, analyst, or advanced user), especially reporting functions.
    • At least 2 years of professional experience with data analysis or data management.
    • Demonstrated ability to create reports, manage data, and support end users.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data cleanup).
    • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with non-technical teams.
    • Excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Self-directed and a team player; able to function well in a dynamic environment.
    • Commitment to continued learning and expanding skill sets relevant to the role.
    • Enthusiastic about using data to support a nonprofit mission.

    Preferred:

    • Salesforce Administrator Certification.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
    • Familiarity with form-building tools like FormAssembly, JotForm, or FormTitan.
    • Familiarity with tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Google Data Studio.
    • Experience documenting processes or developing user guides and training resources.
    • Experience with online fundraising platform Salesforce integrations, Funraise preferred

    • Compensation and Pay Transparency
    • The salary range for this position is $55,000–$60,000 annually, commensurate with experience, responsibilities, and geographic location.
