The Data Solutions Manager is responsible for leading a team to harness internal and external data sources and systems to solve a diverse array of legal and business problems on behalf of the firm’s practice and administrative departments. The Data Solutions Manager will leverage the firm’s data to design and develop bespoke solutions to novel problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Data Solutions team, providing strategic direction and oversight as well as day-to-day guidance for team and individual responsibilities.

  • Utilize internal and external data sources and systems to address a variety of legal and business challenges for the firm’s practice and administrative departments.

  • Provide actionable support for the work of all team members, guiding and coaching to identify and execute on effective solutions to identified business problems.

  • Collaborate on cross-departmental, interdisciplinary projects to leverage data as part of a broader solution set.

  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights for firm and department leadership.

  • Curate and integrate new data sources to enhance the firm's data ecosystem and support the development of new data products, driving improved legal and business outcomes with emphasis on publicly available resources.

  • Work closely with the AI Solutions and Platform Innovations teams to expand the functionality of custom platforms, such as Athena, to better leverage the firm's data and provide real time insights.

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in data and governance to ensure the firm continues to leverage data safely, securely and efficiently.

  • Prepare and present reports on data initiatives, performance metrics, and outcomes to senior leadership.

  • Collaborate across the Innovation team to harness the power of the firm's data for developing and optimizing relevant solutions.

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in data solutions technology to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of innovation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Solid understanding of machine learning and natural language processing concepts, with the ability to guide a team in their effective application.

  • Strong data analytics skills, with proven ability to identify key insights from varied and robust data sources.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to turn data into impactful and persuasive narratives.

  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and innovative problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data analysis, data science, or other related roles,

  • Minimum of two (2) years in a formal leadership position.

  • Proven experience in data visualization, data science, and statistical modeling, with high proficiency in Power BI and SQL (additional proficiency in Python highly desired).

  • Experience working in a large law firm and/or with legal technology platforms highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated success in managing data projects and driving data-driven decision-making within an organization.

Hiring Salary Range:

$135,000.00 - $155,000.00
