Description

AFS-USA is part of a worldwide network of AFS partner organizations that work together to advance global education and foster meaningful connections across cultures. As the network’s largest partner, AFS-USA works to increase the global competency of U.S. citizens by providing a variety of international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities. We are proud of our staff from our national office in New York City as well as home offices across the county, who collaborate with our more than 2,000 AFS-USA Volunteers to deliver high quality programs and global education resources. These include immersion-based study abroad experiences in over 40 countries worldwide; opportunities to host foreign AFS exchange students; and global learning workshops and curricula for educators, schools and businesses.

 

Your day-to-day will focus on product delivery and innovation with engineers, your product management team, and stakeholders to create easy-to-use, elegant solutions that present a seamless user experience. You will work with marketing and the programs teams to integrate the products into the day-to-day operations of the organization. You will collaborate and communicate with senior leaders to gain alignment and a consistent strategy across all AFS-USA programs. You are skilled at clearly explaining ideas, creating compelling arguments, and delivering visual and verbal information to various audiences for maximum impact.

 

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree – preferably in Product Design, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field – and brings 3 to 5 years of experience in product management, ideally within the education or non-profit sectors. A strong technical foundation, including experience with software development and web technologies, and have a proven track record of managing products throughout their entire lifecycle. This individual excels at developing and executing product and marketing strategies and is highly skilled at communicating complex ideas and recommendations to executive leadership. A deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem and the ability to stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends are also essential.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Develop and maintain multi-year product roadmaps that reflect vision, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead portfolio-level decision-making, including investment prioritization, scope, and sequencing.
  • Manage and mentor product managers, ensuring accountability for business outcomes and product quality.
  • Translate business needs into product vision and priorities, acting as a bridge between business strategy and technical execution.
  • Communicate product decisions, trade-offs, and progress clearly across all levels of the organization. 
  • Stay up to date on the Salesforce product ecosystem, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
  • Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert on Salesforce capabilities and digital product innovation.

 

WORK EXPECTATIONS:

  • AFS USA work hours are generally from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday EST; however, given the nature of this position and the necessity to work closely with volunteers, the specific schedule of this role will be discussed with the hiring manager.

SALARY:

  • $100,000/Annually, plus benefits including: medical, dental, vision, and PTO
