Under the direction of the General Studies Department Chair, the Adjunct Instructor of English will provide online instruction for General Studies courses including: English Composition and English Composition w/Research. Instructors update course syllabi, develop lesson plans, develop presentation materials, communicate with faculty lead on subject matter, and evaluate student's progress.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Develop instructional materials to facilitate student learning outcomes for the course. 


2. Collect all assessment data related to student learning outcomes. 


3. Maintain an equitable system of student evaluation based on sound practices in accordance with the course syllabus. 


4. Return all graded assignments in a reasonable time frame according to South College Faculty Expectations. 


5. Project an appropriate professional image. 


6. Enforce all South College rules and policies.

Requirements

Minimum of a master’s degree in relevant English field (Doctorate preferred)


Prior teaching experience preferred in an online environment


Proficient in the written and oral communication of the English language 


Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
