We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Architect, Engineer, and Developer for our Database Systems team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Cassandra and Golang, with a strong preference for those with Astra experience. This role involves leading the design, development, and optimization of our database systems to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
About the role - you will:
- Design and implement highly scalable, high-performance database solutions using Cassandra.
- Develop and optimize database applications in Golang.
- Provide technical leadership in database architecture and strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide database solutions.
- Ensure database systems are secure, resilient, and compliant with industry standards.
- Mentor and guide team members in best practices for database development and management.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in database systems.
- Collaborate with peers across different business units to influence technology strategy and facilitate integrated solutions company-wide.
- Work closely with customers when appropriate to provide technology leadership, evangelism, and to understand and facilitate bringing requirements into the product portfolio
About you:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in database architecture, engineering, and development.
- Expertise in Cassandra and Golang is mandatory.
- Experience with Astra DB or similar cloud-native database technologies is highly preferred
Your experience includes:
- Strong knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, and distributed systems.
- Experience in designing and maintaining large-scale, high-availability databases.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead projects and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Where Seagate has a local legal entity.
