JOB MISSION:
The Senior Retail Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing retail financial reporting and compliance across several European entities. The role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, alongside maintaining internal controls that support both commercial initiatives and regulatory compliance.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Financial Accounting and Statutory Reporting
Ownership of the close process across several European entities, including month end accounting and variance analysis.
Ownership of Balance Sheet reconciliations, the related supporting documentation and variance analysis.
Lead year end audits and financial statements preparation and submissions.
Lead corporation tax compliance and submissions, working closely with internal tax teams and external advisors.
Lead annual transfer pricing documentation submissions.
Assist with adhoc compliance requests related to statutory and government reporting requirements.
Operational and Finance Support
Provide insights through month end variance analysis and reporting.
Provide support to the Retail Operations team and Retail Financial Controller regarding in-store financial controls for inventory, cash and new business initiatives.
Support a best practice environment, working closely with the shared service centre to standardise processes and focus on continuous improvement.
Assist the EMEA Management, Commercial and Financial Information Systems team as necessary on ad hoc requirements and new projects.
Assist and support transition to the new ERP system.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance.
Relevant number of years of experience post qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with an audit background
Motivated with pro-active attitude focussed on continual improvement of processes and reporting.
Strong communication skills and able to develop and maintain strong relationship with colleagues.
Organised, structured, able to manage priorities and work to tight deadlines.
High degree of accuracy and eye for detail.
Strong Excel, PowerPoint and presentation skills.
Experience with Microsoft D365 and Oracle desirable, but not essential.
