This is a sales role responsible for cultivating relationships with the key decision makers and connecting these brands/organizations to our niche audience at a community level through Learfield’s News and Agriculture portfolio of products and services. This includes soliciting brands and organization that have a need to connect to the rural/farm audience.
Promoting and selling the Brownfield Ag portfolio to executive level advertisers
Cultivating customer relationships at the executive level and decision support levels
Blueprinting and researching all assigned and target accounts
Setting short and long-term strategic account direction, aligned with customer needs and goals.
Working as needed with the supporting sales teams
Accurately forecasting and achieving sales results for both the short and long term that meet company objectives.

Bachelor’s Degree in sales, marketing or related field
Work experience may be substituted for educational experience
4+ years of successful sales experience, preferably at a national level
Superior knowledge and use of sales techniques / process including cold-calling, networking, lead generation, with ability to capture and close sales.
Advanced experience communicating, relationship building, customer service, prioritization, account forecasting / planning, negotiating, consultative selling and superior organizational and time management skills.
Ability to perform without direct supervision.
Proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Office Excel, Outlook, etc.).
May manage own workload by applying an understanding of team priorities.
May provide assistance to less experienced colleagues.
Has established skills to perform a range of day-to-day and routine activities.
Acquires advanced job skills needed for more difficult and varied assignments.
Possesses good understanding of the technical aspects of the job.
May use knowledge of how related teams impact achievement of objectives.
May interact with other teams.
Possesses intermediate knowledge of company policies and procedures.
May recognize and solve typical problems that can occur in own work area without supervisory approval.
May evaluate and select solutions from established options.
May consult with more experienced team members to recommend significant variation from procedure or guidelines.

Follows standardized procedures and practices and receives regular but moderate supervision and guidance.
Uses foundational communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
