Job Summary

Sustainability Manager

  • Design, implement, and manage sustainability guidelines within service materials, including sustainable maintenance practices and waste reduction strategies.
  • Develop and share educational materials for internal stakeholders, fostering awareness of sustainability practices.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Commercial on Sustainability messaging

Sustainability Strategy Development & LCA

  • Collaborate with R&D, product development, and engineering teams to embed sustainable practices in new product introductions, and product updates, to integrate energy-efficient design, circular practices, and eco-labeling.
  • Implement and embed Lifecycle Assessments (LCAs) for our product offerings.
  • Conduct Lifecycle Assessments (LCAs) and lifecycle inventories to evaluate the environmental impact of analytical instruments across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize environmental footprint through the value chain, integrating sustainability principles into product development and service processes.
  • Partner with regulatory and compliance teams to monitor adherence to GHG reporting standards and environmental regulations, integrating these requirements into product and support processes.

Sustainability Metrics & Compliance Tracking

  • Track, analyze, and report sustainability metrics, providing regular updates to leadership on progress toward sustainability goals.
  • Benchmark sustainability initiatives against industry competitors, identifying and pursuing improvements in sustainable sourcing, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.

Continuous Improvement & Industry Engagement

  • Build network and incorporate industry best practices into Microbial.
  • Support projects as needed, for example Plastic Import tax.  Identify ways to optimize and establish ways of working to mitigate.
  • Represent Microbial at industry events on topics relating to Sustainabilty
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sustainability management or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience working within the bio-medical industryFamiliarity with sustainability certifications and industry best practicesProven ability to collaborate with cross-functionally across a global organizationAbility to analyze and track data metrics.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to work independentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging internal stakeholders and supporting external sustainability reporting or audits Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment is strongly preferred
