POSITION:
The Sustainability Sales Executive, Renewable Energy Solutions Scope 2
will be responsible and accountable for the development and commercial close of customer mandates and services within the Renewable Energy Solutions practice. The position plays an important role in the development, positioning and proposal management of products and services. As the Sales Executive, you will manage the execution of WFS’ strategy to identify, develop, and pursue the sales of our Renewable Energy products across all of scope 2 and services, with specific emphasis on our Solar PV solutions and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), to new and existing clients. The Sales Executive will work with Subject Matter Experts, Key Account Managers and Marketing to support the commercial activities across the solar PV & REC Renewable Energy Solutions.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Identify and implement initiatives necessary to achieve Solar PV and REC sales objectives, including Gross Profit (GP)/sales volume and increased positive bottom-line results.
- Responsible for individual sales and goals.
- Drive business development strategies and commercial activities with new and existing clients.
- Lead the consultative selling process for prospects and clients.
- Lead on-site and virtual sales presentations to potential clients.
- Engage, synthesise and collaborate with functional teams on solution design for optimal success.
- Provide/coordinate support for proposal preparations and contract negotiations for complex commercial transactions.
- Manage margins through continuous review of market conditions and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with team leadership and management, maintaining weekly updates on pipeline management and document activities in Salesforce.com (CRM).
- Maintain knowledge of solar PV/REC Renewable Energy market trends, opportunities and new technologies and applying a customer lens and viewpoint.
- Seek and Share knowledge of industry trends, competitors, etc.
- Attend relevant industry conferences.
- Performs other related duties, tasks, requests, and directives issued from leaders as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION (BACKGROUND AND SKILLS):
Essential:
- 5+ years of relevant sales experience in renewable energy solutions [solar PV, onshore or offshore wind and other technologies].
- 5+ years of experience with solar PV project development, project finance and corporate PPA’s.
- Strong understanding of environmental attributes, aka “Renewable Energy Certificates” (RECs), including value and markets.
- Excellent understanding of renewable energy incentives and regulatory structures
- Broad technical understanding of energy systems and renewable energy technologies, and ability to assess new renewable energy technologies and complementary technologies to identify new opportunities.
- Outstanding Commercial development skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver meaningful business results with minimal supervision.
- General business and financial acumen and substantive evidence of customer-service orientation.
- Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- Effective team player who excels at performing in a collaborative environment.
- Capability to work alone and as part of a dynamic team, as required.
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally.
- Understanding of Renewable diesel in Scope 1 would be a real additional benefit.
Desirable:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Finance or Sustainability or similar.
- Deep knowledge of Renewable Energy Project Finance and/or Accounting.
- Strong understanding of risk associated with long term power purchase agreements.
