Job description


RxBenefits is seeking a Lead Software Quality Automation Engineer to drive our test automation strategy and execution across multiple scrum teams. This role is focused on designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient test automation solutions that ensure the reliability and performance of our platforms.

You’ll work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to implement testing best practices, embed automation in CI/CD pipelines, and foster a culture of quality throughout the engineering lifecycle. This role will act as a mentor to others and a subject matter expert.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead test automation planning and execution across products and agile teams.
  • Design and evolve robust test automation frameworks, preferably using Cypress and JavaScript (or equivalent tools).
  • Define test strategies and ensure traceability to business and technical requirements.
  • Mentor QA and SDET team members on automation best practices and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Build and maintain automated test suites for Data, UI, API, and regression testing.
  • Drive quality metrics and reporting via dashboards and regular status updates.
  • Participate in architecture and code reviews to provide a quality-first perspective.
  • Advocate for shift-left testing and early detection.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in QA/test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Cypress (preferred), Playwright, Selenium, or WebDriverIO.
  • Strong coding skills in JavaScript (preferred), or equivalent scripting languages.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman, Rest Assured, or Karate.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, and cloud-based pipelines.
  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities with a track record of mentoring others

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience testing in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).
  • Proficient with performance and load testing tools, AI-driven test tools or test data management strategies.
  • Strong coding skills in JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with Cyprus.


Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also short-term incentive eligible. Incentive amounts will vary by individual and business goals.
