Point Loma Nazarene University is a liberal arts university located in San Diego, California, and sits on a 90-acre campus overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Assist faculty in hybrid and online course development efforts. Research and assesses hybrid and online educational needs and interests, and develops online programs, courses, materials, technology, and learning approaches accordingly. Use instructional design principles, contribute to the design and development of learning materials with special regard to teaching adult students, teaching hybrid and online classes, and using technology to maximize student learning outcomes. Collaborate with faculty in the implementation of technology in their regular course as well as the creation of technologically mediated courses. Work with departments and individual faculty members to design and deliver hybrid and online courses. Provide ongoing and systematic support to instructors to help ensure course integrity and consistency. Provide training and support to faculty and staff using the LMS, introducing new methods and technologies and addressing emerging course design issues. Research and identify best practices in the field. Research and identify technology trends in the field. Collaborate and communicate with other support personnel in the deployment of instructional technology. Qualifications include a Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Education, or related area of study; at least two years of instructional design, online teaching, or training experience; understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of Point Loma Nazarene University; working knowledge of Canvas preferred; proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common software packages; ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong commitment to excellence and quality service; goal-oriented, self-motivated, diligent, solution-oriented; strong written and oral communication skills; evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
