Job description

Portfolio Specialist I

United Community is in search of a Portfolio Specialist I to join our team. As a Portfolio Specialist I, you will provide crucial credit and sales support to Commercial Banking Relationship Managers. Your role involves managing loan portfolios, participating in the loan process, and preparing credit analysis packages. Additionally, you will serve as a secondary contact for client relationships and identify cross-sell opportunities.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage Loan Portfolios: Collaborate with Relationship Managers to oversee all aspects of the local loan portfolio, including annual reviews, past dues, borrowing base monitoring, covenant compliance, CARs, collateral exceptions, and other portfolio management activities.
  • Participate in Loan Processes: Engage in joint calling, underwriting, and preparing credit approval packages.
  • Coordinate with Analysts: Work with Credit Analysts to prepare necessary documents like LARs and credit memos.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as a secondary contact and identify cross-sell opportunities with clients.
  • Financial Analysis: Spread, analyze, and interpret complex business and personal financial statements and tax returns.

 

Requirements for Success: 

 

  • 1–2 years’ experience in commercial lending.
  • General knowledge of credit policy, banking regulations, and loan documentation.
  • Strong time management and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.

Preferred Skills/ Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background & credit check
  • This is a full-time, non-remote position
