How This Role Impacts Live Oak and its People

The Deposits Portfolio Manager plays a critical role as part of the Deposit and Operations line of business for managing our portfolio and its financial performance. This role requires a strong analytics background, financial acumen, and a desire to leverage business knowledge and data to evaluate performance. The Portfolio Manager will work closely with Analytics, Finance, and Treasury to create reports, develop forecasts, manage P&Ls, and define performance measurement. Important to this role is a creative approach to complex analyses.

What You’ll Do at Live Oak

  • Work with the Deposits Organization to ensure the proper budget is in place and the department is on track from a budgeting perspective

  • Work with Finance, Treasury, and Data Analytics to support funds transfer pricing, liquidity / balance sheet management, customer relationship pricing, and deposit portfolio performance

  • Drive strategic funding decisioning by aiding the Treasury team in analyzing the Bank’s funding behaviors and determining deposit pricing strategies to generate the optimal requirements needed to fund the Bank

  • Conduct competitive analysis of market conditions; discover new opportunities for business

  • Monitor the deposit portfolio for deviations from projected strategy and volume, and make recommendations for remediation

How You’ll Do It

  • Help prioritize our departmental focus on making informed decisions and measuring outcomes

  • Work with Marketing to develop outbound customer acquisition and/or engagement campaigns

  • Track deposits portfolio costs across marketing, deposit expenses, technology, and personnel

  • Collaborate with Treasury and Finance on different pricing analysis and strategies to provide deposit pricing analysis and recommendations to management as well as prepare materials and participate in the Bank’s ALCO discussions

  • Remain informed about current market conditions, routinely conduct competitive analysis to maintain the competitiveness of our deposit services, and recommend to the team new opportunities for business

  • Oversee the deposit products costs and analyze the best way to grow the deposit portfolio with the lowest COF

  • Determine the data necessary to manage the deposits business and continue to enhance our data and reports with the data team

  • Monitor the deposits portfolio performance and use metrics and data visualization effectively to report portfolio performance and support decision-making at the team or organizational level

  • Analyze key performance indicators to produce reports on portfolio and projects and escalate issues that create a risk for the deposits portfolio and/or projects

Required and Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services with a focus on finance, analytics, and/or portfolio management preferred

  • Experience performing financial analysis, building forecasts and business models, sales and marketing analysis, use of performance management databases, and/or developing customer insights

  • The ability to synthesize various disparate pieces of information to develop appropriate reports, analyses, and information that will support executive decision-making

  • Strong partnership skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various groups in the organization

  • Bachelor’s degree and an advanced degree strongly preferred

  • Financial analytics and/or deposit portfolio management experience strongly preferred

The base pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
