The South College Dean of Computer Science and Engineering is responsible for the curriculum, course content, assessment, faculty, and operations of the School of Computer Science and Engineering.  Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, this position works closely with the Campus Deans at each location to staff and support all course offerings in the programs under the School; this includes all certificate through graduate programs in Information Technology, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering.  The position has responsibilities in many areas including, but not limited to, alignment of industry certification to relevant coursework, maintenance and expansion of academic partnerships, annual programmatic assessment, and programmatic accreditation.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Curate the curriculum and coursework for each program in the School of Computer Science and Engineering.

2. Maintain and expand Academic Partnerships with industry credential providers.

3. Lead and implement programmatic assessment and complete annual assessment reports for regional and programmatic accreditation.

4. Work with Department Chairs and Program Directors to apply for ABET accreditation where needed.

5. Manage distribution of testing vouchers for Computer Science and IT students to get industry credentials.

6. Work with industry leaders to create internship opportunities for students near the campus locations, and support Online students in finding similar sites.

7. Partner with marketing and campuses to promote the growth of the program.



Requirements
  1. The candidate must have a terminal degree (PhD) in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  2. Strong experience managing diverse faculty across different levels of the organization and in mixed remote and on-site teams.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders across the institution.
  4. Strong technical background with understanding of the current and evolving workplace environment and needs for IT, CS, and EE.
  5. Prior experience working with accreditors is preferred.
  6. Candidate should possess substantial experience with higher education systems and planning.
